When Your Storefront Is Technically Visible But Practically Hidden

September 13, 2026

Every business owner believes their sign works. It's right there on the building. It's lit. It cost a fortune. And then you stand across the street at 5pm on a Tuesday and watch four hundred cars go by without a single head turning, and you start to wonder whether anyone has ever actually seen it.

There's a phrase we use for this: technically visible, practically hidden. Your storefront exists. Legally, it's signed. But at 40 miles an hour, with a windshield, a podcast and a left turn coming up, it may as well be in another county.

Three ways a storefront disappears

None of these are sign problems. You can't buy your way out with a bigger logo, because the issue isn't the sign — it's the distance between the road and the door, and the three seconds a driver gives you to close it.

Nobody shops for storage until the week they need it

Lighthouse Self Storage had the classic version of this. Storage is a category nobody researches in advance. You don't browse storage units. You need one the week you're moving, and in that week you notice exactly one thing: whatever is in front of you on the drive you already make.

So we put a Spinja on that drive. Not a banner zip-tied to a fence — a person, on the corner, with the offer on the arrow, pointing at the entrance. The whole job is converting a road into a doorway.

Six spinners, one storefront

Mor Furniture went the other direction. Big store, big sale, and a storefront that sits back off the road behind a parking lot the size of a runway. One spinner would have been a rounding error. So they ran six — the whole frontage covered, arrows pointing the same way, sale terms on every board.

That photo was taken in the rain, which is the part most people miss. Rain is when your competitors' A-frames blow over and their inflatable tube guy gets unplugged. Our crews work the shift. That's the job.

What actually fixes a hidden storefront

We've run this play for storage, furniture, jewelry, grocery openings, urgent care, apartments and home builders across South Florida. Same problem every time, wearing a different logo.

If your building is doing a poor job of announcing itself, that's fixable, and it's fixable this weekend. See what we do across Miami and Fort Lauderdale, or tell us about your corner.
